Fred Amos Joyner, 87, of Springfield, died Thursday February 15, 2018 at his home. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday February 17th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Dale Williams and Dr. Jeffery Clark officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Robertson County Funeral Home.
Mr. Joyner was born August 12, 1930 in Catawba, NC to the late Ralph Lawson and Mary Pope Joyner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Joyner was a retired tool and dye maker for Avco and Peterbilt. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, and the Shriners and Masons. Mr. Joyner enjoyed farming, raising dairy cattle, and his beagle: Jack.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Jerry Jean Forewright, his brothers: Julius and Kenneth Joyner, and by his sister: Frances Joyner. Mr. Joyner is survived by his wife of 62 years: Bennie Jean Blackwell Joyner, his grandchildren: Joey (Leighan) Forewright, Lorrie (Tim) Swann, Freddie (Dana) Forewright, Byron (Lee Ann) Forewright, and Leslie (Katie) Forewright, eleven great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, and his beloved beagle: Jack.
