Ellen Elizabeth Mitchell

Ellen Elizabeth Mitchell, 83, of Adams, died Thursday October 30, 2014 at North Crest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday November 1st at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery in Adams with Justin Mitchell, Jason Tillman, Ed Perdue, Bill Donkin, Jess Moffitt, and Steve Haley serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mitchell was born February 9, 1931 in Logan County, KY to the late William Anderson and Willie Pearl Heaton Haley. She was a retired cook from the Jo Byrns School cafeteria. Mrs. Mitchell also cooked at Martha's Vineyard and was a biscuit maker at Springfield Hardee's in years past. She was of the Church of Christ faith. Mrs. Mitchell enjoyed quilting, embroidery, crocheting, baking, and being with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: George Edward Mitchell, Sr., son: Franklin Mitchell, brother: Johnny Haley, and her sister: Geneva Mitchell. She is survived by her son: George Edward Mitchell, Jr., of Springfield, daughters: Mary Sue (Charles) Wilson of Springfield, Patricia (Yogi Salyer) Tillman of Adams, sister: Rachel (Marvin) Bland of El Paso, TX, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.
