Ed Stroud Obituary

Edward Mitchel "Ed" Stroud, 69, of Springfield, died Wednesday November 11, 2015 at North Crest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday November 16th at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Fred Hembree and Dr. Debra Church officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Ty Austin, Montana Stewart, DJ Wilkins, Cody Wilkins, Will Vogle, and Matt Vogle serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Mac Head, Billy Vogle, Monty Stewart, and Joe Sircy. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Stroud was born October 12, 1946 in Robertson County to the late Mitchel and Johnnie LaVerne Edwards Stroud. He was a retired welder for CSX Railroad. Mr. Stroud was a member of Springfield First United Methodist Church, the Red River Masonic Lodge, and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He loved gun collecting, reading, and was a history buff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Michele Stroud, and his son: Tim Stroud.

Mr. Stroud is survived by his wife: Annette Gower Stroud of Springfield, son and daughter-in-law: Scott and Tricia Swann of Brentwood, daughter and son-in-law: Stacy and Joe Biederman of Cedar Hill, sister and brother-in-law: Joyce and Billy Mac Head of Adams, grandchildren: Caroline and Connor Swann of Brentwood, Landon Biederman of Cedar Hill
