Dorothy S. Wimberly, age 91 of Greenbrier, died Sunday September 14, 2014 at North Crest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 pm on Friday September 19, 2014 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Thurman Page officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends who wish to visit with the family may do so on Friday beginning at 10 am until the hour of service at 3 pm.
Mrs. Wimberly was born August 5, 1923 in Buffalo, NY to the late John Henry and Hazel Clapp Spies. She was a former member of Parkwood Missionary Baptist Church and a current member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church. She worked as a bookkeeper in the printing industry and after retirement worked for 30 years with her husband at Nashville Produce Market.
Her husband, Harry Wimberly Sr. and a granddaughter, Sandra Noblett also preceded her in death. Surviving her are her son, Harry Wimberly Jr. of Greenbrier, TN, daughter, Glenda Sowders of Bowling Green, KY, grandchildren, Teresa Carter and LaDonna Smith, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
