Christine Draughon

Christine Draughon, age 95 of Springfield, died Saturday, October 7, 2017 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Dorcy Simpson, Mark McCreary, Sean Scarbrough, Brigham Warren, Scott Dillard, and Mason Draughon serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 9 AM until the hour of service.
Mrs. Draughon was born January 10, 1922 in Robertson County to the late Elvis and Lorene Moore Henderson. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, doing puzzles, and in her later years coloring. She was also a great cook which she enjoyed doing to provide for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Mason Draughon; son-in-law, Sidney Mobley; and five brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Mason and Maria Draughon of Lancaster, SC and Robert Lynn and Wanda Draughon of Springfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy Ray Mobley of Columbus, GA, Brenda Marie and Jerry McCreary of Springfield, and Betty Nell and Dorcy Simpson of Portland; brother, Billy Henderson of Crawfordsville, IN; sisters, Faye Cayton of Mobile, AL and Louise Brown of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
