Cecil Vaughn

Joseph Cecil Vaughn, 78, of Springfield, died Tuesday October 6, 2015 at Centennial Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday October 8th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Terry McCormick and Bro. Marvin Crouch officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY with Kenny Lyles, Joe Batson, Alfred Brickles, Larry Pratt, Roger Caudill, John Wayne Allen, Dale Pratt, and Jerry Dixon serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Vaughn was born May 23, 1937 in Franklin, KY to the late Joseph Aubrey and Evelyn Caudill Vaughn. He was a retired technician from Potter & Brumfield. He was a member of Orlinda Church of Christ, where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School and serving as song leader. Mr. Vaughn was an avid race walker and competed in many Senior Olympics where he won many ribbons and awards. He loved gardening, collecting antiques, and being part of the Larry's Breakfast Club. His greatest love was his antique 1930 Model A truck. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Janelle England Vaughn, and by his brothers: Buddy and Larry Wayne Vaughn.

Mr. Vaughn is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Kevin and Felicia Vaughn of Springfield, daughter and son-in-law: Christy and David Bolden of Monmouth, OR, brother: David "Chigger" Vaughn of Franklin, KY, and his grandsons: Dylan and Casey Vaughn.
