Benny Ray Garrison

Mr. Benny Ray Garrison, 83, of Springfield, died Tuesday October 25, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday October 27th at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Page and Rev. Pat Pickett officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Ryan Murphey, Trevor Garrison, Benton Garrison, Wade Garrison, Tony Groves, Clois Pitt, Richard Hewitt, and Ray Johnson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr5. Garrison was born September 10, 1933 in Robertson County to the late Ben and Earlene Osborne Garrison. He was a member of Mt. Denson Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Springfield Jaycee's. He was a retired machinist from Precision Products and was a veteran of the National Guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Jean Pitt Garrison; a son, Donald Ray Garrison; brothers, Jewel and David Garrison; and sister, Dorothy Groves.
Mr. Garrison is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Herman "JR" Murphey of Cedar Hill, TN and son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Jada Garrison of Springfield, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The family request that if so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Denson Cumberland Presbyterian Church. All donations may be sent in care of the Robertson County Funeral Home.
