"Bennie" Shutt

Buford H. "Bennie" Shutt, age 79 of Springfield, died Monday, July 3, 2017 at Brookdale in Goodlettsville. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Eddie Walker, Tom Walker, Thomas Walker, Steve Barney, Kyle Lane, and Josh Mantlow serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
Mr. Shutt was born September 10, 1937 in Louisville, KY to the late William Hershell and Mae Frances Snyder Shutt. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from Ford Glass Plant. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Naval Intelligence. He loved traveling, dancing, and movies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Sue Shutt; grandson, Brian Edward Walker; brothers, Benjamin Sherrell Shutt and Leroy Woodall; and sister, Brenda Rippy.
He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Tonia and Eddie Walker of Springfield and Brandi Reynolds of Hermitage; brother, Bill Shutt of Kentucky; sister, Janie Armour; former wife, Denise Bischoff of Hermitage; six grandchildren; and one great grandson.
