Bennie Jean Joyner, 90, of Springfield, died Sunday March 4, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday March 10th at 3:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Jeffery Clark and Brother Dale Williams officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Joyner was born April 28, 1927 in Providence, KY to the late Bennie Brown and Ira Lillian Gardner Blackwell. She was a retired waitress from the Springfield Shoney's with thirty-two years of service and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Fred Amos Joyner, who died February 15, 2018, by her daughter: Jerry Jean Forewright, by her brother: Jack Travis Blackwell, and by her sister: Patricia Joyce Cowan.
Mrs. Joyner is survived by her grandchildren: Joey (Leighan) Forewright, Lorrie (Tim) Swann, Freddie (Dana) Forewright, Byron (Lee Ann) Forewright, and Leslie (Katie) Forewright, her sister: Joretta Nakomas Clark of Clay, KY, eleven great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, and her beloved beagle: Jack.
